Richard A. Peck, BA, MBA, L.Ac., FAAPM

Richard A. Peck, L.Ac. is a native of Des Moines, Iowa. He has a BA degree from Coe College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a MBA degree from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. He did his initial training in acupuncture with Dr. Ineon Moon while living in the Chicago area. In 1980 he moved to Taipei, Taiwan to further advance his study of Oriental Medicine with Dr. Tsao Cheng Chang. Richard is licensed by the Texas State Board of Acupuncture Examiners. He is certified in alcohol and drug addiction treatment. He is also trained in Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET), Koryo Hand Therapy (KHT), Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and Zhu Scalp Acupuncture. Richard specialies in allergies, pain management, neurological problems and addictions.

Richard began his studies of Chinese Martial Arts in the early 1970's with Prof. Huo Chi Kwang in Evanston, Illinois. While studying acupuncture in Taiwan he studied martial arts with Master Lu Hung Bin. Richard now teaches Tai Chi Chuan, Pa Kua Chang, Hsing Yi Chuan, Qi Gong, Chin Na, weapons, and Taoist meditation. He brings principles of Chinese medicine to his martial arts classes.

He and his wife Iva have a very busy clinic in Plano, Texas where they see a wide range of health care issues. They have written numerous articles on TCM and martial arts. They are co-recipients of the prestigous Janet Travell Award in Clinical Pain Management given by the American Academy of Pain Management.

Ancient Travels is Richard's first book on acupuncture and martial arts. He is currently writing a sequel to his first book.
